With little to no commercial media support, Harlem rapper ASAP Rocky and crew have acquired an underground cult following, as well as catching the attention of music execs and major artist alike. Latest to be consumed by ASAP fever was Young Money’s own rap star Drake who tapped the 23 year-old artist to come join the Club Paradise tour line up and take his talents to colleges throughout North America.

“He called me up before I even met him,” the Harlem repper tells BET.com. “He [Drake] hit my boy Chase N. Cashe like ‘yo get ASAP on the phone for me.’ When I got on the phone he just started going off about how he f—- with the new era and the new music, and he’s really a fan of that sh–.”

With more than equal admiration for the chart-topping star, the Always Strive And Prosper commander says the down to earth convo with Drake organically led to his placement on the upcoming college tour.

“He was just like you got to come on tour with me,” ASAP recalls of the conversation. “I was like man you got it, lets do it. It was that simple.”

In addition to the promise of future collaborations between the two, ASAP has already been busy making his wish list of artists he’d be reaching out to for his RCA Records debut.

“I want to work with KidCudiPharrellCee Lo Green,Yelawolf and Bone Thugs N Harmony,” he admits.

Still tight lipped about the actual release date of his much anticipated mixtape LIVE LOVE A$APRockydoes confirm features from Bun BPaul WallKilla Kyleon among others for the project.

The rap rookie is also psyched about his new label deal with RCA and after already dropping bangers “Purple Swagg”, “Peso” and more recently “Out Of This World” the underground leader prompts fans to get ready for him to take his brash, over the top style of music to the next level.

“I don’t remember the last time a New York artist got three million dollars for deals,” he explains. “At the end of the day when you’ve got creative control and you got people that’s willing to back you up and help you creatively and financially it’s a plus.”
