When I caught up with him at the Woodie Awards before he commandeered the Austin stage for a live set of his tripped-out spin on chopped-and-screwed swag — with the help of Schoolboy Q, some shout outs to weed and some well-timed airhorns — he humbly explained that despite his success, he’s still got a long way to go. A$AP Rocky also credited Drake for helping him gain the confidence to take his live shows to the next level. And speaking of Drake, he assured me he’d put in a good word with October’s Very Own on my behalf. I know A$AP’s busy, but I plan on taking him up on that Drake offer and that $3 loan.
