We’re not sure what musicians have to hide, but when we spotted Justin Bieber in a facemask, we knew this was the new trend to watch. Since Michael Jackson thrilling back in the ’80s, the act of face covering has been on the scene. Recently fashion designers like Rick Owens, Walter Van Beirendonck, Alexander Wang and Maison Martin Margiela have been using facemasks to accentuate their creations, causing this fad to spread. From the runway to the streets, anonymity has become quite the trend in the modern music industry. We’ve seen deadmau5 and Daft Punk rocking their famed masks for years, but we’ve also recently spotted Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, and even the Biebs veiling their faces.
