(Video) A$AP Mob Interview with HYPETRAK in Tokyo

admin / 28 Jun, 2013

With A$AP Rocky spearheading hip-hop, we wanted to catch up with the rest of the cohort who molded the foundations and core-values of the now ubiquitous A$AP movement. With industrious work ethics and an upfront approach to creativity, A$AP Mob have branched out onto different facets of the industry; Illz and his modeling endeavors and jewelry design; Josh in styling and his celebrated VLONE line with Twelvy; Nast and Addie on their hard-spitting rap techniques, while Yams overlooks every aspect of the Mob, keeping everyone in check with the unfaltering growth of success. Supported by Black Scale, A$AP Mob recently hit the road for a Japan tour. Amid the absence of Ferg and Twelvy — due to their own promotions of Trap Lord and playing support to Rihanna’s Diamond World Tour — we got a chance to sit down with the group for a very rare (first ever actually) interview outside of Rocky’s company. We caught up with the Mob prior to their Tokyo show and learnt more about the make-up of A$AP, how success has effected the group, and weather they take dress cues from each other. Amid catching the group on a reflective tip, we also learn more on the fledgling “New New York” scene — consisting of the likes of Bodega Bamz and Flatbush Zombies — and get a glimpse at their jam-packed Tokyo performance.
