(Video) Preview of the GUESS Originals x A$AP Rocky Collection Presented by HBTV

by @Djordje

A time many consider to be the golden era of hip-hop, the late ’80s and early ’90s saw the explosion of a global phenomena we now call streetwear. Spanning from New York to Los Angeles, this brilliantly resourceful subculture laid claim to luxury fashion houses and designer brands alike, repurposing their rich history and high-end aesthetics for the concrete jungle that engulfed them. One of the first brands accepted by hip-hop’s unapologetic artists was a young and blossoming American brand by the name of GUESS.

The Los Angeles based brand quickly made a name for itself due to its premium denim adorned with the simple, yet very recognizable triangle emblem and question mark motif. It wasn’t before long that GUESS found its way into rap videos and urban cinema, creating a newfound trend within the world of hip-hop. However, many of those unforgettable designs have been frozen in time … until now. Thanks to the upcoming GUESS Originals x A$AP Rocky collaboration, you can finally recreate those iconic looks.

Reliving street fashion’s infant, albeit golden years, the above video, narrated by none other than Rocky himself, follows a group of rebellious youths seeking a nostalgic fix. Feeding their curiosity, the troop gets together and ends up crashing a huge warehouse, stumbling upon the soon-to-be-released GUE$$ capsule which includes pieces that pay homage to early ’90s hip-hop influences.

Within the range you’ll find pieces that add a contemporary edge to classic GUESS styles. The men’s collection features an oversized denim bomber jacket with large pocket detailing, tailored denim overalls, striped T-shirts, and hoodies. The women’s offering includes a reversible denim parka, an oversized denim jacket with striped paneling, acid wash denim shorts, classic overalls, and vintage-inspired skinny jeans.

The GUESS Originals x A$AP Rocky collection will be available globally in exclusive boutiques on January 30 and select GUESS stores in February.

(Video) A$AP Ferg Freestyle & Interview on Sway In The Morning

by @Djordje

It’s always good vibes when we see ASAP Ferg. Today, since he’s in NY for G-Eazy’s tour, this Mob member swung by Sway in the Morning and dropped some gems.

Although he’s an ASAP Mob member, its important that you get to know him as an individual. From his different style of music, to his fashion sense — even down to his Adidas — custom made by him of course.

With an album coming out “very soon,” titled ALWAYS STRIVE AND PROSPER, Ferg opens up about some special studio sessions.

While hanging in studio with Madonna — no big deal — she revealed her son put her on to him. He even had Work as his ringtone!

When he went in-studio with Missy Elliott and Timbaland, he only intended on playing one song — which turned into playing his whole album. Ferg even reveals that Missy paused the album to tell Timbo — “this is the music i want to make!” Did we mention Magoo was in-studio too?

Making that session even better, Timbaland revealed that Jay Z was in-fact the one who put him on to ASAP Ferg’s music.

Watch above for more of his dope behind-the-scenes stories, text convos with Missy plus a dope introduction to his new artist Crystal Caines.

… you know we couldn’t let them leave with out spitting a 16, right?! Enjoy.

A$AP Ferg Interview with The Source

by @Djordje

asap-ferg

In the midst of a crazy ‘business as usual’ schedule, A$AP Ferg has been nonstop from the jump in 2016.

From performing at last week’s Yams Day to being on the road for the past month and then some alongside G-Eazy, to preparing his new album, Always Strive And Prosper, Ferg is sitting at the brink of a glorious year.

As part of the When It’s Dark Out tour (supporting G-Eazy’s new album of the same name) Terminal 5 was blessed with three sold-out shows this past week and the crowd was introduced to a new side of Ferg. While still performing fan favorites from his debut Trap Lord, Ferg also delivered some new fire, such as “New Level,” his single with Future and his Yams-dedicated track, “Tatted Angel.” His dedication to the late A$AP Yams made for a powerful moment on stage, as images of his fallen brother were projected on a large screen behind him and the audience swayed their cell phones in the air paying respect.

Written from the heart, “Tatted Angel” was the first song A$AP Ferg released in over a year, and is also foreshadowing to a more personal side the rapper promises to show in Always Strive And Prosper, which is still awaiting its official release date announcement.

Backstage after closing his Terminal 5 set out with his sign off, “Love, Peace, & A$AP,” Ferg was shown love from his family, friends and crew, with his mother and uncle in the building as well. While asking his friends to give him a minute so he can chat with The Source, a friend jokingly asked him, “So, when did you realize you could rap?”

“I was in front of the mirror and I said, damn you handsome!,” Ferg replied, laughing. “What can match with this handsome?”

While Ferg does have the time of his life with every show, he handles his business seriously. Dipping out rapidly following our conversation in order to make perfect timing to join G-Eazy back on stage, it became clear our interview was the first time the rapper sat down all day.

Check out our exclusive Q+A below and keep your eyes open for the announcement regarding the release date for Always Strive And Prosper.

It’s an unlikely pairing.

(Video) A$AP Ferg Taps Missy Elliott, Chris Brown For ‘Very Personal’ Album

by @Djordje

He was Trap Lord on the last album, but now A$AP Ferg sounds like he’s entering Hood Pope terrain this go around. And by “go around,” we mean the trails currently leading toward his brand new studio album, Always Strive And Prosper.

In between crafting behind the scene work on projects like his Traplord x adi-Ease Collection and a slew of art projects (more on that later), the A$AP Mob firebrand has also been busy finishing up the long-awaited sophomore project, which will arrive via RCA/Polo Grounds/A$AP Worldwide.

This month will mark two and a half years since the release of Trap Lord, his debut album, but as Ferg tells REVOLT the new LP is well worth the wait.”
