A$AP Rocky Talks Beauty with The Coveteur

by @Djordje

We met A$AP at the Soho House in Toronto, speech slow and heads aching from a few too many Belvedere vodka-somethings at the A$AP x Cov jam the night before. But the hangover was no match for A$AP’s savoir-faire—he totally schooled us with his encyclopedic fashion knowledge (not-so-subtle hint: maybe there’s a closet feature coming up A$AP in our iCal?). We sat down with him in a Kindergarten, show-and-tell-like circle and learned the A to Z’s on fashion – literally. He gave us the golden-grilled goods on witch hazel, purple lipstick and his philosophy on women’s beauty (and er, the facts of life?). Break out that Moleskine, ladies, because this worth taking notes..

A$AP Rocky & A$AP Ferg for NYLON Guys

by @Djordje

Our latest issue is out now and we’re stoked to have some of our favorite artists in the book. We’ve featured A$AP members on the blog before and just a few weeks ago Rocky and Ferg stopped by to spend the day at our headquarters. The guys were literally just back from shooting the “Wild for the Night” video and only had a two-day break before starting the Diamonds World Tour with Rihanna. It’s great to see a focused group of hard-working young dudes getting their due. Witnessing the rise and continued success of the A$AP organization has been amazing. The above pictures are just a few outtakes from our shoot with them, check out the full story on page 96 of this month’s NYLON Guys.

A$AP Rocky Covers Interview Magazine (April 2013)

by @Djordje

Remember when hip-hop was all about guys rapping about their sneakers? It still is—at least on one level—in the world of A$AP Rocky, although the sneakers in question are more likely to be laceless Margielas. Of course, Rocky’s music encompasses much more than that, but it’s his intuitively reverent irreverence—toward hip-hop, toward fashion, toward most things that operate in an orthodox or circumscribed way—that has fueled his swift and sudden rise from fashion-obsessed mixtape hustler to idiosyncratic pop star. Within the last 18 months, he has signed a record deal worth a reported $3 million and recorded and released his proper debut, Long.Live.A$AP (Polo Grounds), which reached the top of the Billboard charts when it was released in January. He has also toured with Drake and Kendrick Lamar, co-directed a handful of his own videos, collaborated with Raf Simons, and was a near-ubiquitous presence at Fashion Week in New York City in February, even walking in a show for street label Hood by Air.

A$AP TyY Visits SR Handcrafted Backpacks

by @Djordje

A$AP TyY along-with Royal Rel and Gu$to of KicksTV visited the new luxury accessory brand SR. SR creates pieces that are handmade in NYC, using only the finest materials on the market ranging from Brazilian Anaconda to bulletproof Kevlar material. While there, TyY crafted a backpack to match his on-the-edge “bike life” lifestyle, while still luxurious enough to accompany him on flights around the world, and they even took a little time to watch some “Real BIKE LIFE” videos. Check out the pics and head over to sr1990 to build your own.

(Photos) VICE: A$AP Mob Live in NYC

by @Djordje

VICE has supported the A$AP Mob, the Flatbush Zombies, and the whole New New York hip-hop movement from jump. We’ve written so many damn articles and shot so many damn videos about these guys and what they’re doing, we’ve kind of run out of shit to say for right now. So, when we heard Rocky, Ferg, and the rest of the A$AP Mob would be rocking Brooklyn’s Public Assembly with Bodega Bamz and the Flatbush Zombies for Scion AV’s Open Mic event, we figured it’d be best to just send fancy photographer Don Brodie to the show to snap some choice pics.
